Scholar-In-Residence Spring 2008

Through the identification of a scholar with expertise in areas appropriate to the ministry of LCM, the Scholar-In-Residence program is designed to forge yet another kind of link between the ministry and its community with the purpose of enriching the spiritual and intellectual components of the ministry.

We are pleased to introduce Dr. Kathy Waller as our Scholar in Residence for spring 2008.

Dr. Waller has served as a physician at Hartshorn Health Service at Colorado State University since 1990.  After graduating from Pacific Lutheran University and the University of Iowa College of Medicine, she completed residency and fellowship training in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and also earned a Master's degree in Public Health.  In addition to providing primary care, she has special interest and expertise in travel medicine, and chairs the pandemic influenza preparedness team at Hartshorn Health Service.  As a follower of Christ and a passionate advocate for social justice, she has joined the movement for single-payer national health insurance in the United States.  She is a member of Physicians for a National Health Program and Health Care for All Colorado.  Kathy is married to Kevin Mabry, and they have two daughters, Callie and Cortney. We express our thanks to Dr. Waller for serving in this capacity.
